Flashing my old Startac 7868

I'm having no luck finding a way to flash my trusty 7868 to the latest
firmware (7654). None of the Verizon shops around here will do it
anymore. Anyone know where it can still be done? Or, in the
alternative, does anyone have a copy of the flash file (7654.ehx) so
that I might try to do it myself? Thanx.

In the DFW area, I phoned around and several stores said they could do it.
Mostly the older stores since they have the cable and the newer ones don't.
What's different in version 7654? I have older firmware too and may
consider re-flashing.

I understand that 7654 was the last revision to the firmware, and it
adds two way sms capabilities and added minibrowser features to older
firmwares (like the 7058 I presently have). As far as plain old calling
is concerned, it probably makes no difference. Anyway, maybe I'll try
calling around some more, but one of the verizon stores I talked to
said the IT guys came in and just took out the software from their
computer., about a year ago. If you can do it, I'd recommend it be
done before those IT guys come to your area.

You might try contacting ViaStar and see if they can flash your StarTAC
to the 7654 firmware.
